As we get back to 'business as usual', our programs are coming back.

Many children in Galveston have lost everything. As Galveston schools open next week, many children are in need of clothing to start again. Moody Methodist Church will be collecting funds to purchase uniforms for Galveston Island students. A complete uniform is approximately $25. 100% of monies received will go to the purchase of uniforms. Donations can be mailed to: Moody Methodist Church, Attn: Rev. New Sunday Schedule
Moody Methodist Church announces a new Sunday morning schedule. We are making these changes so we can offer a space for worship to another congregation who is displaced by Hurricane Ike.
8:45am - Informal worship - Fellowship Hall
10am - Sunday school
11am - Servicio de adoracion - Fellowship Hall
11am - Celebration worship - Christian Life Center
11am - Traditional worship - Sanctuary

Libbie's Place update

Moody Day School planning to reopen
Moody Day School reopened on Monday, October 6.
Worship continues.
We are back to weekly worship services. Again this week, Sunday, October 5, we will have one worship service at 11am in the Sanctuary. We will celebrate Holy Communion this first Sunday of the month. We will have Children's Church and a nursery will be provided for worship.
We will also have Sunday school at 9:30am with coffee and donuts.
And we are cleaning up the water damage in the sanctuary.
Church offices and building are open.
Church office and building are open for business as of Wednesday, October 1. The walking track hours will be adjusted because of the curfew in Galveston. The walking track will be open from 7am until 7pm, Monday through Thursday and from 7am until 5pm on Friday.
Worship together this week.
We are planning to worship on the island this Sunday, September 28, at 11am in Fellowship Hall. We are continuing the work of the church and that includes weekly worshipping together. Bishop Carlos Intipampa will deliver the message at this service. (Tuesday, September 23)
Preparations for getting to work.
Preparations are underway for the staff to return to work. See what is happening to get the building ready for us to return.
Moody Methodist Church celebrates two services.
We are blessed to have completed two worship services on Sunday, September 21. We had about 75 people in worship in the Fellowship Hall on the island, with several service personnel and chaplains in attendance. Then we had about 80 in worship and we celebrated with Holy Communion in the sanctuary at First United Methodist Church in LaMarque. We came together to celebrate making it through the storm and coming back together as community, as the church. (Sunday, September 21, 2008)

Moody Methodist Church announces two services this Sunday.
12(noon) , September 21 - A Service of Praise and Thanksgiving at Moody Methodist Church for those who are on the island. It will be a community service and all are welcome to attend.
4pm, September 21- at First United Methodist Church of LaMarque. They have graciously offered to host a service for those off of the island but close enough to attend. We will complete the service with Holy Communion. (Updated, Friday, September 19)

It is hard to put into mere words the feelings and emotions that are inside me at this time. I have made two trips to Galveston since evacuating and like you have watched countless hours of news reports and so forth.
